Our client specializes in providing essential services to schools and academies, including HR, GDPR compliance, Health & Safety, Payroll management, and Information Security. Their mission is to assist educational institutions in managing compliance effectively, reducing administrative burdens, and ensuring regulatory requirements are met with confidence. We are currently seeking a dedicated Data Protection Officer / Consultant to join our cutting-edge data protection team. This role offers a hybrid work setup with remote flexibility and occasional visits to London or client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement: Develop enduring relationships and offer innovative compliance solutions.
  • Independent Work: Provide clients with recommendations on potential risks and audit compliance levels within data protection legislation.
  • Crisis Management: Rapidly assess and contain data breaches, offering expert advice on resolution.
  • Policy Leadership: Lead the review and drafting of data protection policies and procedures.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, along with strong listening, oral, and written communication abilities.
  • Analytical Reporting: Produce detailed analytical reports and conduct thorough research.
  • Training Provision: Deliver client training both virtually and in-person as required.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Relevant Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in data protection, regulatory/compliance, legal, education, or consultancy fields is preferred. Cross-training opportunities are available for candidates with related experience.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to produce professional-quality written content.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for effective communication and relationship management across all stakeholder levels.
  • IT Proficiency: Proficiency in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office and Office 365, is required.
  • Commitment to Development: Dedication to ongoing professional development and openness to continuous training opportunities.
  • Sector Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the education sector is desirable but not essential.
